Georges Edeline’s Toddler Soccer Program

Georges Edeline’s Hall of Fame Soccer School (est. 1976), invites toddler boys and girls to join an exciting summer soccer class at the Clarkston Community Center. Coach Georges has over 35 years of teaching and coaching experience and holds USSF “A” & NSCAA “Premier” certificates. His passion for the sport is only matched by his talent for working with young people. You can rest assured that this is not a competitive soccer team but rather a soccer school where the focus is on individual skills, ball control and lots of fun for kids of all talent levels.

Hall of Fame SoccerCoach Georges is now taking sign-ups for the summer season. Classes will meet on Saturdays from 9 – 9:45 a.m. at the Clarkston Community Center, 3701 College Avenue, Clarkston, GA 30021 – about 10 minutes from Downtown Decatur. The cost is $15 per class, $10 per class when you pay in advance for ten classes.

We need 12 toddlers to sign up to guarantee a summer class. If you are interested please contact Coach Georges at 404-808-6089 or soccerge@comcast.net. You may also reply to this post and I will reserve a space for you. I am excited about the possibility of having a summer program. The spring season just ended and my baby boy misses practice already. Call Coach Georges and come out for a practice so that you can see if the program is right for your little one. We have been attending Coach Georges’ soccer school for a year now and it is fun to see that our son still gets all excited when we pull up to the soccer field.

Our baby boy was a late walker. He wasn’t sure on his feet until around 15 months of age, but by 18 months old he could dribble a soccer ball across a field with such speed and control that many onlooking parents would comment that it wasn’t really “normal”. After so many of these comments we decided to look around for ways to expose our son to more soccer skills than we had to offer (grabbing a ball and taking him to the park.) But, we had a very hard time finding any soccer teams or practices that took children under the age of two until we came across a news article about Georges Edeline, a championship soccer coach who, through so much pressure from the parents of the older kids in his classes, decided to develop a soccer program just for toddlers.

Coach Georges is terrific with all of the kids in his class. If one wants to stop and pick flowers in the middle of a drill Coach Georges will say “Let her, if she finds that more interesting right now. She’ll come back when she’s ready.” So, don’t worry if your son is daughter isn’t a toddler soccer prodigy. Though your child will develop soccer skills through this program, the focus is on fun.

Isn’t anyone as deeply disturbed at the thought of this as I am? These kids aren’t even two!!!!!!! They are BABIES! Come on folks… let the poor little guys (and girls) play. Their pro soccer careers can wait until they are a few years older.

I would suggest that anyone considering “toddler soccer” visit a site….

Anyone considering this class might get some good perspective here and it will save you a good bit of wasted money.

I agree that there are a lot of things developmental opportunities for young children. But I’m not sure what’s so disturbing about soccer. The kids are pre-school age, and that is about the age where many kids get exposed to soccer, t-ball, etc. But they can start younger, as my little one did, if they are really into kicking balls. My little one also loves to sing and play the drums. He always has, so we do Music Together and all that other mommy and me stuff. He really likes it but he wakes up in the morning asking to play soccer. He’s 2 and half now and he’s been consistent with his interest in soccer for about a year. My biggest consideration was that I did not want to my child to be exposed to high-pressure coaches or demanding parents or other things that take the fun out of learning how to play a sport. Coach Georges’ approach is to not put the kids into teams and make them compete but rather help them gain some coordination and basic soccer skills and have fun with it so that they can have more confidence if they decide to join a team when it’s appropriate.

Hi guys, just found you through Google search. I have just published a book on Toddler Soccer from my award winning Toddler Soccer programme here in Northern Ireland.

It is also available as an e-book.

More details / order from the website, http://www.ToddlerSoccer.Org.

The book is great & can be used by all parents as well as coaches. Instead of a night time story get out in the garden or park to play some great games with your toddlers!

So easy to get into – no previous playing standards required – just have fun!

    Good luck with your class.
