The First Christian Church of Decatur, the church that owns and cares for the great children’s park at the corner of Northern and Nelson Ferry Road, is offering free VBS classes for children between the ages of 3-years and 6th grade. The theme for the week-long program is Animal Crackers and is based on the Heifer curriculum.
Classes start July 7th and meet daily at 9 a.m. with the option of picking up at Noon or 12:30 (lunch is $3). The church will hold a registration day on June 22nd, but you can meet some of the staff at the park between June 19th – 21st where they will be passing out free boxes of animal crackers along with registration information. I cannot teach VBS this year but I teach Children’s Church at FCC Decatur and work on the Christian Education Committee, and I feel confident in saying that your children will be surrounding by some of the most caring and capable individuals that I’ve met since I moved to Decatur.
